Renovations Underway

Big Plans for Kefi

Some big changes are on the horizon for Wrightsville Beach’s favorite watering hole.  And not just a watering hole at that, Kefi’s renovations will begin to move them closer toward a restaurant, while still maintaining the “tried and true” Kefi bar and venue it has always been.  Progress toward this goal began on the 18th of February and is planned to continue until around March 5th.  It seems like a long stretch, however in the interest of the customers, Kefi plans to stay open during most of the renovation process, with only a few days being scheduled for a complete closing of the building.

DineWilmingtonOnline.com sat down with Jake, the General Manager who was glad to give us a sneak peak as to what we should expect after the project is complete.

It's What's on the Inside that Counts
Capefear-217
The Cape Fear Seafood Company has opened at it's location in Monkey Junction in the Blockbuster Shopping Center. Although not much to look at from the outside, it is more than surprising to see what is on the inside. A very tasteful decor and a comfortable atmosphere.
Noteworthy Executive Chef, Chip Pridgen, has prepared a menu that can only be described as "casual gourmet with a southern flare, in a casual atmosphere at affordable prices", this coming from Cape Fear Seafood's Owner Evans Trawick. The restaurant will surely fill a much needed void in the Monkey Junction area which is seeing a tremendous amount of growth and we hope, more independently owned restaurants. Their concept is simple, surpass expectations. Trawick and Pridgen aim to please with daily blackboard specials and gourmet that is delivered in fine dining style but casual and without the fine dining prices.  Check out the menu and take an interior tour on their restaurant page. After you visit Cape Fear Seafood Company, leave us a review! We are waiting to hear what you think.

Wine With Paul
redwhiteChelsea’s Lately?

By:  Paul E. D’Angelo / The Wilmington Wine Shoppe

What to do & Where to do it seem to be the proverbial questions asked … no, not every night after dinner … but definitely every February.  Valentine’s Day to be exact.  Every February 14th, like clockwork, the alpha of the relationship tries to make the plans that will out do not only last year’s night out, but even what the Jones’s are up to next store.  The Classic is always a wonderful dinner out for you & the loved one.  Normally, I would be against this … I like to shake things up a bit if you haven’t noticed.  Actually, I would probably be against the whole Holiday if it wasn’t for the damn lover in me … but I digress.  There is a reason we Classically pair things together like Dinner & Valentine’s … and my guess would be that everything is perceived better in 2’s … strawberries & Champagne … Chocolate & Peanut Butter … Brad & Angelina!  Solo, these are all just fine, but together … look out!  And like these classic pairings, you just can’t shake the perfect combo of Valentine’s Day & Dinner for 2!
