Dan's Mason Bistro has announced that it will close the restaurant as of September 27th.
They will continue regular service throughout the month of September and I highly suggest if you have not been to this location that you truly owe it to yourself to experience what you will soon be missing.
Another fabulous landmark restaurant that has had a tremendous effect on the local culinary scene and set a standard for Wilmington Bistro Gourmet will sorely be missed. The Murphy family has contributed to this community by providing some of the best food, service, atmosphere and commitment and the accolades and recognition pale comparison to what they deserve.
On a personal note:
To our family at Dan's,
Thank you for the great times, wonderful experiences, friendship and support - we will miss you all and wish you all the best. Lisa Layman, Dine Wilmington Online.com

In tough economic times, it is a rarity in this ever growing community to find a restaurant owner that has an establishment that has lasted through our city growth and ever growing competitive market. J. Michael’s Philly Deli is one of the most rare and best examples in our community of an original concept that has with stood the test of time. J. Michael Hutson & his partner Lou Nieper, have been friends, co-workers and business partners who will celebrate 30 years in business.
The restaurant J. Michaels’s Philly Deli, which brought the Philly
Cheese steak sandwich to Wilmington, has done it by “being 100% family
affordable.” J. Michael Hutson has long established himself within our
Wilmington community with charitable support, focus on customer service
and the time honored Philly sandwiches. When he came to Wilmington in
1979 he convinced his friend Lou Nieper to join him, both were
strangers to the restaurant business. View the Menu

Two local franchise owners have recently expanded to second locations in newly constructed Bea Rivage Shopping Center.
Pita Delite’s owner, Jeff Brown has opened as of May 16th some two years after the South College location took the area by storm.
Jeff Brown was the first local owner of a Pita Delite franchise. The three other existing locations, all currently in the Greensboro area are still held by the original owners. “It was about eating healthy and fast, a combination that we don't usually pair. The offerings at Pita Delite are Mediterranean, and the counter service at Pita makes it convenient to order and sit down in a clean, comfortable and relaxing dining area. It's a win - win; cost effective, healthy & great atmosphere!” stated Brown.
As seen here, Jeff Brown, owner of Pita Delite
