nicolasdr06 With the recent closings, many local area groups are finding themselves displaced and, if you were under the impression that it would be difficult to find meeting, party or function space, you may be surprised to find that most local restaurants are more than willing to accommodate. Restaurants are currently looking for ways to increase business and finding ways to accommodate groups is just one way. Many local restaurants are reporting slower than usual holiday bookings and are hoping that although full fledged company parties may be out of the budget, cocktail and appetizer holiday gatherings can be a very reasonable alternative. Read on for just a few of the places that we have compiled and keep in mind that sometimes an original alternative makes for a unique and unforgettable occasion or gathering.



Szechuan 132 - Maximum reservation 30 people.  Limited or off menu available.
The Wilmington Wine Shoppe and Event Gallery is open for business.  Three years up and running Wilmington Wine Shoppe in its new 1200 sq ft location is available as event space. Wedding receptions, dinner parties, banquets, meetings, holiday events and more.
The Wilmington Wine Shoppe is also available for on and off site wine tastings and bartending.
Chris' Cosmic Kitchen - Exclusive restaurant rental available for up to 44 people (minimum 10) anytime after 4:00pm.  Catering is available for your special event year around.  Buffet or off menu available from prime rib to heavy hor dourves. Let their CIA trained chef cook exclusively for you.
The George on the Riverwalk - Exclusive restaurant rental available (call for details) or Smaller Dinner reservations are not Guaranteed Private. Bar - maximum 40 people.  Dining Room - maximum 60 people. Outside - maximum 130 on riverfront patio (weather maybe a factor and not recommended for sit down full course meal at this time of year). Off menu or limited menu available
Two Guys Grille - two private rooms that seat about 40 people each open for reservations
Buoy 32 Bistro - Maximum 50 people.  Limited or off menu available.  Also, available for lunch functions.
Kornerstone Bistro – The dining area seats 100 and the outside, an additional 32. Kornerstone can arrange for private parties as well as preparing food for customer's parties at home.
Laterna - Bar: Maximum 50 people.  Dining Room: Maximum 65 people.  Limited menu, off menu or buffet available.
Mason's Haunt - Maximum 35 people.  Limited or off menu available.
Deluxe - Maximum 80 people.  Limited or off menu available. They prefer 30 ppl or less for parties and give them the entire rear of the restaurant with partitions for additional privacy.
Nicola's - Private Banquet Room: Maximum 40 people - buffet or limited menu.  Dining Room: maximum 100 people - buffet available.  The restaurant is also available for private lunch parties.
City Tavern - Exclusive Restaurant Rental: maximum 150 people seated or 200 people for standing mingler.  Private Dining Room: maximum 30 people seated or 60 people for a standing mingler.  Packages starting from light appetizers @ $8/person or 4 course meals for $40/person.
Front Street Brewery - Has a mezzanine on the second floor which will seat about 50 -60 people.

You can find restaurants all over town that are willing to work with all sizes and accommodations, if you are interested in a restaurant just make the call.
