Mediterra Hosted the Waterford Dining Group
By: Joe Metell

As you can undoubtedly tell by their name the food at Mediterra is Mediterranean which does not mean just Italian.  The difference being the food is influenced by twenty countries on three continents.
The facility is in a perfect location in downtown Wilmington.  The first floor is the main dining room and bar.  The décor is warm, comfortable and sophisticated.  We were 30 plus people with plenty of room and additional tables for other customers.
The menu is so adaptable because there is tapas, salad, dinner and desserts.  You can graze sharing some tapas and wine.  Or you can have a more traditional dinner of salad, an entree and dessert.  Either way the food is excellent.  It’s a perfect opportunity to try some dishes you never had like boquerones fritto, kibbi, tabouli, mousaka, and the most popular in our group – chicken shawarma.  If you want to know what they are you will have to try Mediterra.  And the best is that the most expensive entrée on the menu is $22.00, very, very reasonable.
Go on Saturday evening and you may be lucky enough to be seated for the special treat – a real professional belly dancer.
We had great food and a wonderful time (some of us had a very very wonderful time).  Definitely a place to go, enjoy and have fun.
