Lobster Bake - This Weekend! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Lisa Layman
lobster-2Two 1.5 lb lobsters, Clams and the Fixings for a great cause!
Twelve year old Sarah Mairs has struggled with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis her entire life.  In the last year, lymphoma cancer reared its ugly head.  After going through an intensive chemotherapy session in Duke over the summer, she was declared cancer-free earlier this fall.  Just a couple weeks ago, she broke her arm, found a bump in her neck, had it checked out and is officially once again, riddled with cancer throughout her tiny little body.  She is back up at Duke University for a rigorous series of chemo treatments.
There is going to be a fast and furious Lobster Bake fundraiser at Capt. Bill's Backyard Grill on Dec. 13th, 6-8:30pm.  It is going to be A LOT of fun.  The $75/couple donation gets you 2 lobsters, clams, sausage, potatoes and corn in a neat package.  You can eat there or just order it to go.  Either way, it's actually a really good deal and 100% of the ticket sales go to the Mairs' Whisper Foundation, a non-profit set up for Sarah and other kids with JRA. You can also drop off a wrapped gift at Captain Bill's for delivery from Santa to children undergoing treatment over the Holidays at Duke.
for more information visit The Whisper Foundation website or for reservations/take out contact Jess Mairs @ 762-4586.
