rockAt 9PM on April 19th Local Artists will be performing at Hell's Kitchen for a cause.  "Rock Against Rape", an annual benefit concert for the Rape Crisis Center of Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. in Wilmington, NC. Four years ago, local bands from the area put together the event to support the Rape Crisis Center. The event has since taken on a life of it's own, and this year there are not one, but various shows! All of the proceeds will go directly to the Rape Crisis Center. The money raised from Rock Against Rape will help keep Rape Crisis Center up and running. They are a nonprofit agency and are run by grants, fund-raisers and personal donations. Their services include free counseling, advocacy with court and law enforcement, support groups for survivors, teens, children, parents, college age survivors, and girls in the Juvenile Detention Center, referrals, and 24-hour crisis response (which means they provide advocacy and support at the hospital 24/7). All of the work is done by only 3 full time staff. They also have 18 volunteers who help them provide the 24/7 crisis response.
